We have an opening for a Sr Accountant.  The Sr Staff Accountant is responsible for performing a wide variety of accounting related tasks including treasury functions, general ledger accounting, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, month-end close, and internal and external financial reporting.  Additionally, this position will work closely with the finance team, external auditors and other business partners to create processes and procedures to ensure timely preparation and analysis of financial statements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in compliance with GAAP and FASB requirements
  • Assist in the monthly close and planning/forecasting processes including balance sheet review, preparation of cash flow statements, and management reporting
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and reserve analysis, as well as monthly and adjusting journal entries
  • Monitor and review account activity for adherence to company policies and accounting controls
  • Manage treasury/banking activities, including bank account reconciliations, monitor bank service fees, debt compliance reporting, and resolution of reconciliation issues
  • Supports internal and external information requests, including banking, tax, and audit
  • Defines and develops reporting responsive to customer requests and interprets reports for management
  • Lead or participate in process improvements, department projects, or system enhancements
  • Maintains orderly, accurate and complete documentation in support of assigned work responsibilities and retention requirements for appropriate tax, Government and other regulatory offices
  • Assist in developing, documenting and updating policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years progressive experience in general ledger accounting
  • Experience with ERP software (NetSuite preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills in addition to experience with PowerPoint and Word
  • Skills using TEAMS, Zoom, or other similar programs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of balance sheet, cash flow, profit and loss accounting and reporting, and GAAP requirements
  • Ability to be an effective problem solver with strong investigative and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to effectively manage time, prioritize workload, and handle multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with employees of all levels within the organization
  • Independently driven with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Must take initiative, be self-motivated, be dependable with a positive, energetic approach
  • Ability to maintain a professional manner and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Desire to grow and expand abilities
